A LEGEND OF MOUNT BROMO

Hundreds of years ago, during the reign of the last king of majapahit , brawijaya, one of thing’s wives gave birth to a girl, who was named roro anteng ladder this young princess married joko seger, who come from a brahma coste because of an unfortunate situation the couple was forced to live the kingdom.They setted down in the mountain area. They tuled the area and named it ‘teger’ whichwas derived from the couples names; roro antengand joko seger.

After several years the region flourished in prosperti, but roro anteng and joko seger were a happy because they didn’t have a chilled, frustrated, they climbed the top of the mountain and proved night and day hoping that the gods would listen. The proyes was heard and betoro bromo promised them many children. How ever, the couple had to promise that they would sacrifice their youngest child in return.

Roro anteng gave bird to a child then another. In the and roro anteng and joko seger got 25 children.  Son it was time for them to sacrifice the youngest child kesuma, but the perent jus couldn’t do it. They tired to hide the child but and eruption happened and kesuma fell into the crater there was silence before they heard a voice; I have to be sacrificed so that you will all stay alive. From now on you should arrange and annual offering ceremony on the 14^th  of kesodo”(the twelfth mouth of tangiest calendar it was kusuma voice.

Kesuma’s brother and sister held the offering ceremony every year. Inste  ad of a human being, thes peope collected fruit, vegetable, rice and meat to be offered to the goes. And this has been done generation after generation until today.
